As you noticed I took off a couple of weeks of blogging, lets just say life hit hard.
Hubby and I have a business, and we have to file our taxes in March. Well I do all my work in quickbooks, and I got all my paperwork by the middle of February, I was good to go, like way ahead of schedule…yay me! I got everything to my CPA, so hopefully it would be worked on and I would get all my figures back by the beginning of April and I was pretty sure we wouldn’t owe anything because we paid so much in taxes last year. Wouldn’t you know…it didn’t happen like that unfortunately. I found out the week we had to file that we owed taxes, and all the other lovely tax information. It sucked!!! Thankfully I was given time to pay the taxes. I paid one set of them, this last week, and then I have until May to file the other set of taxes. Thank the Lord for the extra time, because I was not prepared for this at all. I honestly thought we had overpaid for 2015. All-in-all I love having my own business…until tax season. lol
We refinanced on our house during the last month, and we are now paying less each month! It was easy enough to get all my information to them, I just had to find it all. It’s a good thing I’m organized, and I found all my information that I had scanned in! Yay for scanners and computers! Thanks to paying less on our mortgage we can now put more money towards taxes…yay I think. I’m still unsure how to feel about this.
Our first fur baby, Maverick, has cancer. We found a tumor on his leg, had it removed, and the lymph node checked. The results came back with stage 2 mast cell tumor. Unfortunately there is no cure for this cancer, and no way of knowing of much longer he will live. He had his leg bandaged up for about three weeks, and during that time another tumor popped up. Hubby and I have decided to leave it on for now, so that he wont have to be bandaged for the rest of his life (if more popped up and what not). He seems to be doing fine for now. He’s getting lots of love and attention, and his sisters are watching out for him as well. You can follow his life and the other lives of our adopted babies on instagram @bdrosedogs. Side note all the pictures on instagram are from my phone, and are not the best quality. The reason for this is my camera sits on my table, and my phone is always on me. If I move, my fur babies usually follow me, resulting in not getting the picture at the right time.
We had a couple other things pop up in the last month, but these were the major things that prevented me from coming up with recipes and posting about everyday life. I’m back now!
