I have started a side business of boarding dogs. I love it! I get to have dogs come over to my house, and I can love on them all day long, or I can go over to peoples houses and watch their dogs there. More dogs in my life, I can’t go wrong, plus my dogs love playing with other dogs! So exciting! So why am I telling you this, keep reading you’ll see.
I have been getting phone calls from phone numbers all over the U.S. and I usually answer them, and it has all been spam. I just never know if maybe one of my managers is calling about bread in a store. So here is the phone conversation with my caller ID coming up as California:
Lady: Hi…is…Danielle there?
Me: Um…momento (really long pause, trying to find myself in my house, while I’m on the phone) Hi, this is Danielle!
Lady: I’m calling about boarding my dog.
Me: Oh of course, I got your message off of the website, when would you like to schedule a meet and greet?
Needles to say I have never thought this quick on my feet, especially after answering the phone so stupidly. Also you should all know I don’t speak Spanish, I know like three words: Hola, muy bien, and gracias! (My friends at Walmart are always trying to get me to talk with them in Spanish, and I very much struggle with it.) I don’t even know if momento is even Spanish. lol The entire time I was on the phone conversation with this sweet lady I was wondering does she think I have a maid? I really don’t, I clean everything myself. What if she figured out I really was the person who answered the phone. OH MY GOODNESS! The stress throughout the phone call was intense, thanks to myself. Needless to say after my amazing way to answer my phone, and all of my stressing out, we did schedule a meet and greet. So I didn’t mess anything up. But now I know for next time or whenever my phone comes up with something other than Texas, always answer with, “Hello”, and leave it at that.
