Making oreo balls is one of the easiest desserts I have made, until you start dipping in chocolate, I still need to figure out how to master that step. Other than dipping super easy, and you don’t even have to turn on your oven! I wanted to make these because my husband who absolutely loves oreos, and he is also fond of cream cheese. He doesn’t enjoy chocolate, but I figured maybe the white chocolate would be okay. I personally feel like white chocolate is fake chocolate, so I thought I could pass this by him.
I placed a full family size bag of oreo’s in my ninja blender, and blended them up into fine little pieces.
I’m assuming if you are making this you enjoy oreo’s, so feel free to take a bite or two of these fine oreo pieces.
Add the cream cheese, and powdered sugar, then mix it all together, and place in the fridge.
Meanwhile start a double boiler. A double boiler is a pot with water, and then place a heat resistant item (pan, bowl, ect.) on top, but not touching the water. This ensures you don’t burn your chocolate.
After chilling in the fridge for a bit, take a cookie scoop, and scoop the oreo mixture, place into your hands and roll into a ball.
While making your balls, every once in a while stir your chocolate, so it evenly smooths out.
Dunk the balls into the chocolate. I used a toothpick and a fork to cover the balls, and then to get them out I placed onto the parchment paper to let the white chocolate harden.
If anyone knows a trick about covering balls in chocolate, please let me know, I think I got maybe 10 balls covered correctly, the rest, lets just say I tried my best. lol
Going back to me trying to trick my husband, it didn’t work. Because of the white chocolate these oreo balls were too rich for him. But I took these to small group, and my friends loved them! They said this is how it is supposed to taste. So yea, I did it right! Maybe the next dessert my husband will like…only time will tell.
